Divergently Married: neurodivergent relationships, parenting and real life

Sonay and James talk honestly about ADHD, autism, marriage, parenting, work and the practical reality of sharing a life as a neurodivergent couple.

Divergently Married

What is it?

Divergently Married is the Divergently Being podcast about neurodivergent relationships, parenting and everyday life.

Sonay is an ADHD coach and neurodivergent speaker. James is an assistive technology trainer with more than 20 years of IT experience. Both bring lived experience of ADHD and autism to the conversations.

Episodes cover the parts of neurodivergent life that do not always fit neatly into advice posts: communication, sensory needs, parenting, work, identity, rejection sensitivity, systems, disagreements and the things they are still working out themselves.

How did it start?

James and Sonay were looking for a podcast they could listen to, and then noticed that there were no podcasts aimed specifically at them.

They decided to make one of their own, and spent some time trying to figure out what to say. In the end, they decided to say whatever came into their heads first.

Two microphone purchases later, they recorded their first podcast, and the rest, as they say, is history.

What do they cover?

ADHD, autism and AuDHD relationships are at the centre of the podcast, alongside parenting, work, identity, sensory needs, rejection sensitivity and the systems that help or hinder everyday life.

The emphasis is on lived experience rather than pretending there is one correct way to be a neurodivergent couple or family.

New episodes are released when real life allows; the podcast is part of the wider Divergently Being ecosystem.
