About Divergently Being

Neurodivergent-led ADHD coaching, assistive technology training, speaking, writing and practical support.

What Divergently Being is

Divergently Being grew out of our life together as an autistic and ADHD couple trying to build something that genuinely fits us.

We started the Divergently Married podcast because we wanted to speak honestly about neurodivergent relationships, work, emotions, family life and the world around us.

Over time, that work evolved into ADHD coaching, assistive technology training, speaking, writing and practical support. Its direction has been shaped by Sonay’s coaching work, professional background and TEDx talk, James’s more than 20 years of experience in IT, and our shared experience of assistive technology.

Becoming parents added another layer. Through Sonay’s experiences of pregnancy, birth and early motherhood, we saw first-hand how little support there can be for ADHD mums and their families.

Today, Divergently Being brings those strands together through a mix of coaching, technology, specialist support and speaking.

Support should fit real people, real brains and real lives.

Meet Sonay and James

Sonay

Experienced ADHD coach, neurodivergent speaker, Solicitor Advocate and co-founder of Divergently Being

Sonay speaking at TEDx about ADHD and autism

Sonay is an experienced ADHD coach, neurodivergent speaker and Solicitor Advocate with more than 500 hours of coaching experience and almost 15 years’ experience across corporate and legal environments.

She combines professional coach training with lived experience of ADHD and autism. Her work focuses on helping neurodivergent people understand themselves more clearly and find practical, sustainable ways of navigating work, life, identity, overwhelm and change.

Her professional background gives her a strong understanding of demanding workplaces, high expectations and competing priorities. She is ICF-trained and brings that experience into her coaching without assuming every client’s experience will be the same as her own.

Sonay also speaks on neurodivergence, work, burnout, inclusion and the legal profession. After becoming a mother, she developed an additional specialist focus on ADHD motherhood, pregnancy, birth, early parenting and returning to work. That sits alongside, rather than replaces, her broader ADHD coaching work with adults.

James

AuDHD assistive technology trainer, speaker and co-founder of Divergently Being

James is an AuDHD assistive technology trainer with more than 20 years of IT experience across technical support, troubleshooting, workplace systems, training and mentoring.

He helps neurodivergent and disabled people use technology, tools and systems in ways that fit how they actually think, process information and work.

His work grew from seeing how often people are given software or workplace tools without enough help making them useful in practice. He supports people with assistive technology, digital systems, planning tools, AI tools and everyday workplace technology.

James is particularly focused on making technology feel less intimidating. His approach is calm, practical and grounded in real tasks, helping people build confidence without jargon, shame or pressure.

What we do together

Some of our work is stronger because it brings both sides together.

Divergently Reset

Sonay’s coaching and James’s practical technology support combined when insight and systems both matter.

Speaking and training

We can speak separately or together on neurodivergent work, relationships, parenting, technology and support.
