Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed: 13 August 2026
We want Divergently Being to be usable by as many people as possible, including disabled and neurodivergent people and people who use assistive technology or accessibility settings.
We are continuing to improve the website and use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as a reference point for that work. We are not currently claiming that every part of the website fully conforms to WCAG 2.2 AA.
What we are doing to support accessibility
The website has been designed and rebuilt with accessibility in mind. Features and approaches currently used or being maintained include:
- responsive layouts intended to work across different screen sizes and browser zoom levels;
- clear page headings and content sections to make pages easier to scan and navigate;
- text alternatives for meaningful images where appropriate;
- labelled form fields and plain-language form instructions;
- visible links and buttons designed to be distinguishable from surrounding content;
- cookie controls that prevent non-essential embedded media from loading until the relevant choice has been made;
- accessibility preference controls stored in the browser where those controls are available;
- reduced reliance on automatic movement or animation;
- ongoing review of keyboard navigation, focus behaviour and screen-reader labelling.
We will continue testing these features as the website develops rather than assuming that a feature is accessible simply because it has been designed with accessibility in mind.
Accessibility controls
The website includes accessibility controls intended to help people adjust aspects of the site to suit their needs. These may include visual or reading preferences that are remembered in your browser.
We will review the operation of these controls, including keyboard access, labels, focus behaviour and preference storage, as part of our ongoing accessibility work.
Known limitations
We know that some parts of the wider Divergently Being website and connected services may not yet provide the same level of accessibility as newer pages.
Known or potential limitations include:
- older blog posts and historic content that were created before the current site rebuild;
- third-party forms or services, such as Google Forms, where accessibility is partly controlled by the third-party provider;
- embedded YouTube or other third-party media;
- older documents or downloadable files that may not yet have been fully reviewed for accessibility;
- individual site controls or navigation behaviours that are still being tested with keyboard and assistive-technology use.
If one of these limitations prevents you from accessing information or using a service, please contact us. We will try to provide a practical alternative.
Need information another way?
If you need information in another format, a different communication method or help accessing a page, please tell us what would work better for you.
For example, you can ask for information in a simpler layout, plain text, by email rather than phone, or in another reasonably practicable format. We will work with you to understand what you need and what we can provide.
Report an accessibility problem
If you find an accessibility problem with the website, please email info@divergentlybeing.co.uk or use the contact form.
It is helpful if you can tell us:
- which page or feature caused the problem;
- what you were trying to do;
- what happened instead;
- the device, browser or assistive technology you were using, if you know and are comfortable sharing that information.
You do not need to provide technical details if you do not know them. A description of what went wrong is enough to start with.
How we assess accessibility
Our current accessibility work is based on self-review while the website is being rebuilt and tested. We have not yet commissioned a formal independent accessibility audit.
We intend to continue reviewing the site against WCAG 2.2 Level AA principles and to address problems identified through testing or user feedback.
Something getting in the way?
Tell us what is not working for you and we will try to find a practical way forward.
