When I was setting up the website, I thought “I know, let’s get a blog going”. My idea was that we could maybe use it as a journal, talk about things that bothered us, things we’ve thought about, or maybe write about something that needed to be talked about, like Sonay and I do in our podcast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, that was easier said than done. I tried setting up in WordPress, but the design was never quite right. I tried a few different flavours of CMS (content management system), but my design wouldn’t work there either. And when you’re autistic and ADHD (AuDHD), you end up getting very annoyed with it very quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Why won’t this bloody thing just work?” I often moaned, although I didn’t say bloody. You can probably guess what I did say, but for the purposes of keeping this SFW (safe for work), I can’t. Despite the fact I love a good sweary tirade, but I digress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As it turns out, I was letting perfect be the enemy of good enough. And eventually, I came round to the idea that as long as it works, I shouldn’t over-think it. When you’re AuDHD, you tend to hyperfocus on details rather than looking at the bigger picture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Of course, setting it up was only half the battle. What to actually write for a post? Well, as many writers are told, “write what you know”. So, here I am, writing a blog post, about the annoyances of setting up a blog. It seems very meta, but there we go. It’s my blog, and I’ll write what I want to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
